KidPass, a New York-based online marketplace for booking activities for kids, has bought Mommy Nearest, a New York-based media company focused on young parents.
KidPass acquired Mommy Nearest to add parenting advice and curated articles to its services, and connect partners and advertisers with parents, according to a statement. The companies claim combined they will serve 18 million parents nationwide.
Founded in 2016, KidPass claims to have over 400,000 activities booked across 4,000 activity providers on its platform.
Mommy Nearest was founded in 2013, and today claims to have over 200 writers nationwide producing content tailored for parents. Parents spend an average of four minutes a session on its app and the website averages between 400,000 and one million unique visits a month, according to the company.
KidPass has raised $6.3 million to date, according to Crunchbase. Investors have included Kevin Ryan, CoVenture and TIA Ventures. Mommy Nearest has raised about $4 million from its CEO, friends and family, according to AlleyWatch.
