​Students Design Service-Oriented Apps at Camp

NOT JUST LANYARDS: Aaliyah Trader, along with 14 classmates from Endeavor Middle School in Brooklyn, got some lessons in social entrepreneurship this summer, as EdWeek reports. CEO Bootcamp (short for “Career Exploration Opportunities” Bootcamp) teaches campers in New York, DC, Chicago, San Diego and Texas about entrepreneurship, with field trips to local companies and a student app creation challenge, “Battle of the Apps.” Student learn to develop their own apps, ranging from providing direction to the visually impaired to facilitating charity donation.
