education policy socially unacceptable

Socially unacceptable? The state of Missouri doesn't want teachers randomly "friending" students, Audrey Watters writes. In the short term, the rules require Missouri schools to have more written policies on "appropriate" electronic interactions between teachers and students (including SMS and websites and such). Weirdly enough, the way the new regs are written could be a boon for groups such as Edmodo that already have student-teacher safeguards built-in.
