DISTRIBUTING DEVICES: As the Bring Your Own Device/Technology movement gains momentum, the BYOT Network has unveiled five pearls of wisdom for implementing BYOT during the first five days of school. Much of the advice -- modeling good practices, constructing a learning environment, discussing responsible use -- is a digital translation of good pedagogy practices. We were intrigued by the “4 C’s of Digital Age Learning - Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, and Critical Thinking” -- a fairly simple framework for remembering that technology provides new learning capabilities. And of course, if you’re one of those fortunate souls to have iPads in the classroom (apparently Apple sold more iPads to schools than Macs this past quarter), The Journal provides five Things Not to Do During an iPad Rollout.
