What’s Next? Check Out These Upcoming K-12 Edtech Events in 2019-2020

For many educators, summer is a season filled with activities—vacations, outdoor time, sporting events and camps … summer school. It may also provide an opportunity to relax, recharge and reflect.

Midway through the year, many people ask themselves: What have I accomplished, and what lies ahead? Put another way: Where have I been and where am I going?

At EdSurge, we take that pulse check quite literally. And the answer is: all over. Our team has crisscrossed the country during the first half of 2019 to bring you stories from schools, campuses, conferences, convenings and other education events all over the map—from SXSW EDU in Austin and ASU GSV in San Diego to ISTE in Philadelphia and ASCD in Chicago.

Guiding us through that travel throughout the year is the EdSurge K-12 events calendar, which compiles—in one place—all the convenings that are on our radar, complete with details such as location, dates and registration links. Whether you’re a teacher, administrator, entrepreneur, technologist or investor, one of these 65-plus events will apply to you.

The calendar below lists events happening in the second half of 2019 and the first half of 2020. The PDF includes links to the event pages where you can find the most current information for each conference. We’re running a few of our own: Immersion, a workshop for entrepreneurs on Sept. 13 in New York City and March 29, 2020 in San Diego; and Fusion, a gathering of leaders in learning, equity and technology, from Nov. 4-6 in Burlingame, Calif.

Think we missed something? Let us know. And wherever your travels take you, we hope you still get the chance to relax, recharge and reflect—not just this summer, but all year long.

To help you navigate which events may be right for you, here’s how the calendar is organized:

Red, blue, orange: What do these colors mean?

Anyone can attend any conference. However, we’ve color-coded these events based on their designated primary audience.

  • Red events focus on the business and industry side of the ecosystem; expect plenty of technologists, entrepreneurs and funders.
  • Blue events are built around K-12 educators, with a focus on teaching, learning, pedagogy and best practices.
  • Orange events are tightly focused around a specific topic or audience, such as instructional technologists or principals.

Your link took me to a conference that already happened or doesn’t exist yet. What gives?

Don’t worry—we confirmed with conference organizers all dates for future events that aren’t yet listed on their site.

Aw, you left out my favorite event!

Sorry about that! Feel free to add a comment on this piece with details about the event you like the best, or shoot us an email at feedback@edsurge.com.

Will you update this calendar in the future?

Yep—about every six months!

Do you have a higher-ed version of this calendar?

Here it is!
