BADGE OF HONOR: Complete College America, an Indianapolis, IN-based nonprofit, announced a program to reward edtech products that are proven to help students graduate. CCA will award a “Direct GPS Seal of Approval” to software that supports guided pathways—structured academic plans that lead from course registration to graduation. Such technology includes registration and just-in-time advising tools.
“While technology alone will not solve our college completion challenges, an effective technology solution can better prepare students to choose the right path, make progress on that path, and ultimately complete their degree or credential” CCA President Stan Jones said in a press release.
Edtech companies can apply to be considered for the seal of approval until August 31, 2016. An advisory board of college administrators, education consultants and faculty members will evaluate applicants on efficacy and functionality, Inside Higher Ed reports.
