Scaling Innovation in Higher Ed: Lessons from SXSWedu

How can higher-ed institutions best meet the needs of their students? A group of roughly 100 faculty, administrators, students and digital courseware industry representatives dove into that very question at a SXSWedu session earlier today. The “Innovating Higher Education: Moving To Scale” workshop featured a series of 15 real-life challenges for which teams developed solutions. Challenges included questions about building infrastructure for online courses in-house or buying it from vendors, and how to cope with “initiative fatigue.”

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation supported the event, and the New Media Consortium, which hosted it, will publish results from the discussion in a report. Here’s a snapshot of the conversation:
