Newark Public Schools Receive Award and Tentative $12.5M From Foundation for Newark's Future

Dec 2, 2015

IS NEW JERSEY STILL STRUGGLING? A recent Hechinger Report post suggests things are looking up for the city that made headlines for the $100M Zuckerberg plan that didn’t change a thing in the Newark school system. The post highlights that the district is one of ten recipients of the Learning Counsel Digital Curriculum & Content Strategy Award for providing turn-key professional development in all schools, among other things. And on the Zuckerberg note, the same organization created to manage that $100M--the Foundation for Newark's Future--has tentatively committed another $12.5M to Newark’s schools. Will things go differently this time?
