S'Cool Tools of the Week: Teacher.org, Learning Upgrade, GradeSlam

TOO COOL (PERFECT FOR SCHOOL): We've got our favorite edtech teacher and administrator tools for the week right here, as highlighted in our Instruct newsletter. By the way--got a favorite S’Cool Tool you like to use? We would love to hear and share your recommendations! If you’ve got a tool that makes you or your students sing from the proverbial mountaintops, fill out this form to let us know. It might just get featured!

Free! We need more teachers. We need more teachers. Did we say that enough? If you’re interested in being a teacher, or know others who are, Teacher.org offers resources for anyone looking to become a teacher, get a teaching degree, earn scholarships and more. We encourage you to share this S’Cool Tool with others--especially those who’ve got the teaching or mentor gene.

Freemium: Learning Upgrade has launched three interactive electronic English courses for students in grades 3-5. The lessons are designed to support students’ classroom learning in reading literature, listening and foundational writing skills. It integrates songs, videos and games throughout. The courses progress with 60 step-by-step lessons that align with Common Core Standards. More details in the press release.

License: Got milk a tutor? GradeSlam offers students and parents access to a marketplace of vetted teachers and subject or test prep experts for online or in-person tutoring. Prices vary per tutor, but students can work with a tutor for one free online session before committing. File sharing and photo sharing are expected in the next month.
