TOO COOL (PERFECT FOR SCHOOL): We've got our favorite edtech teacher and administrator tools for the week right here, as highlighted in our Instruct newsletter. By the way--got a favorite S’Cool Tool you like to use? We would love to hear and share your recommendations! If you’ve got a tool that makes you or your students sing from the proverbial mountaintops, fill out this form to let us know. It might just get featured!

Our tools of the week are:

Free! Though our S’Cool Tools are normally actual products, here’s a little something different--a fascinating interactive story from the NYTimes where you guess how family income predicts a child’s chance of going to college. The answer may surprise you.

Free! To grow enough food to feed the exotic wildlife of planet Mixia, your students will have to calculate ratios on Ratio Rancher. Designed by the makers of SimCityEDU and Argubot Academy, Ratio Rancher aims to help students in grades 6-12 get familiar with proportions and ratios. Available on Chromebooks and Chrome browsers; students under 18 need parental permission to play.

Free! Kipdative’s Learner Mosaic helps parents gain insights from all those hours their young students spend playing digital games. Based on what Kidaptive games a kid is playing, Learner Mosaic offers up ways that parents can support their young learners, like conversation topics to reinforce preschool-age-appropriate skills, including symbol meaning and how to take turns. Available in the App Store.

Free! Administrators, don’t let your teachers out for summer vacation just yet—at least, not before you’ve had a chance to gather their insights from the school year. This teacher survey from Panorama covers 15 topics, from professional learning to teaching efficacy. To access the survey for free, use access code “PanoramaSpringSurvey.”
