EMBIBE: $4 million to Mumbai-based Embibe from Kalaari Capital and Lightbox; hat tip to EDUKWEST). Founded in 2012 by Adit Avasthi (who once led Kleiner Perkins' India investments), Embibe is an online test prep portal that helps students prepare for engineering entrance exams. Over 15,000 are using the platform, according to The Times of India.
