2013 K-12 Budgets for Tech Purchases Stabilizes

Feb 7, 2014

MORE MONEY AND DEVICES: The financial outlook for tech adoption in K-12 districts appears to be optimistic--for once. According to EdNET Insight's "State of the K-12 Market 2013" report, 75% of districts say that budgets for hardware, software, teaching training and tech support "will either stay the same or increase." Tablets are also on the upswing, with 42% of districts reporting plans to purchase at least 100 of these devices. Over half of the curriculum and tech directors believe digital will replace print "to a substantial extent over the next three years." But finding the right content is still a challenge: 29% say finding the appropriate apps to be difficult. The full report is pricey at $7,500, so take a peek at the table of contents to see whether it's worth it.
