Teachers Say More

Memo to Sam at ClassDojo, Amy at EdCanvas, Dan at Newsela, Chris at Educreations, Jen at Kickboard, Jeff at NoRedInk and others: Want to hear what teachers think about your product?

We love it when people "kick & tell"--try out an edtech tool and then share their feedback.

And since the great shindig in Chicago, here are a few people on the top of our list:

  • Bridget Heneghan, a sixth grade teacher in Chicago Public Schools
  • Maura Weigel, a second grade teacher at Galapagos Charter
  • Lindsay Mehlberg, a teacher with Chase Elementary School
  • Chris McLaughlin, with the Solimar Academy
  • Valerie, with the Chicago Public Schools
Would you share your experiences with an edtech product? Use the form here and give us your point of view. Once we've verified your identity, we'll share back your comments with the community.

Last month in Chicago, several hundred teachers had a chance to join together and kick the tires on about 30 education technology products. It was a first time for all those involved--including our crew, who shared thoughts in writing. (We also shot some great video interviews here.)

The folks above went the extra distance to share some substantive feedback on products built by the following teams:

What we're trying to do: make sure that teacher voice gets through to the companies.

For instance, on ClassDojo:

"I wish they had subgroups. I'm always giving points to groups, but I have to go through and select the students individually and then give them the points. It'd be great to be able to say, 'Great teamwork, Table C!' and be able to just select the group and give them the points all at once."

--Bridget Heneghan, 6th Grade Teacher; Chicago Public Schools. from teachers interview in Chicago, July 2013,

Okay, Sam and others, what do you say?
