Mike Kentz is the founder of AI Friction Labs, which designs and sells AI roleplays, and the curriculum around them, to challenge students rather than assist them. A former journalist, he has taught middle school, high school and college, most recently as an adjunct professor of rhetoric and inquiry at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is the author of “From Tutor to Test,” a chapter in “GenAI in Higher Education” (Elsevier, 2026), and holds a master of fine arts from Wilkes University, where his research focused on AI’s impact on creativity.
