Spotify and NYC Department of Education Collaborate on Music Hackathon

Jun 4, 2013

MUSIC TO OUR EARS: Here's a cheery tune: Spotify is partnering with the NYC Department of Education for a two-day event, Music Education Hack, where participants will push the boundaries of creative technology to create juicy music apps for the classroom. Fresh off its first app hackathon, InnovateNYC (part of the NYCDOE's iZone initiative) has invited music teachers to identify relevant problems in their classrooms and participate in all aspects of the event. Details and prizes are being finalized, but we're hearing that major industry players and music startups will take on roles as mentors and judges. (Just imagine working alongside the likes of RapGenius!)
