Jul 26, 2012

KIDS THESE DAYS can actually be up to a lot of good. Just ask these winners of the second annual Google Science Fair. 15-year old Brittany Wenger from Florida took the $50k top prize, along with a trip to the Galapagos, for a "Global Neural Network Cloud Service for Breast Cancer" with a 99.11% successful detection rate. Jonah Kohn from San Diego took the prize for 13-14 group for a device to help hearing-impaired people enjoy music. A Spanish team of three took the 15-16 group for their work to locate and document microbes in local freshwater sources. And these are only a few of the many finalists from around the world.
