Brief Biography

Cyril Bennouna is a doctoral candidate in political science at Brown University.

Bennouna’s research focuses on migration, citizenship and public service provision, especially in contexts of political crises and complex emergencies. He has conducted research on topics such as refugee health and integration, community and interpersonal violence after disaster displacement, armed attacks on schools in warzones, and the determinants and outcomes of COVID-19 control policies.

Bennouna has previously held senior researcher positions at Columbia University’s Program on Forced Migration and Health, the CPC Learning Network, the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, and the Center on Child Protection and Wellbeing at the University of Indonesia. He has a Master’s in Public Health from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s in Brain, Behavior, and Cognitive Science from the University of Michigan.
