The Impact Engine
Jun 30, 2012
The Impact Engine, a 12-week venture accelerator in Chicago, is now accepting applications for its first cohort of socially and/or environmentally minded for-profit companies. Terms are as usual: $20k in seed capital for a small percentage of the company, with classes beginning in September. Chuck Templeton (founder of OpenTable) and Arun Sivashankaran (seasoned entrepreneur and technical guru) will be working with the companies on a day-to-day basis. Other perks include access to legal and accounting resources, professional networking opportunities, business workshops--all in preparation for a launch day in front of investors. A "bonus" is available for those who get cranking on their applications early--because early birds get the worm.
