GLOBAL FOCUS: Typical students will welcome OER as a much-needed relief on their thin wallets. Multiply those savings by millions and a few countries could breathe easier, suggests UNESCO. At the very first Unesco World OER Congress in Paris a few weeks back, representatives from around the world showcased various university-led OER projects and concluded with a declaration calling for unanimous support from governments around the world. "Governments...have the most to contribute ot the OER movement and the most to gain in terms of cost savings and economic growth," stated the Guardian.
