DIY studies: For everyone who thinks name-brand credentials are overpriced and so should go the way of the dodo, Anya Kamentz's Edupunks' Guide to a DIY Credential is for you. It's a breezy, 100-page free (thanks, Bill & Melinda!) ebook, stuffed with tips about how to create your own education. The official website opens in September but Anya blogs here. As DIY journalists, EdSurge is a big fan of figuring stuff out on your own. We like much of Anya's advice, such as to teach yourself stuff online, "start with a question." We'll even forgive her for the diploma she has from that four-letter school in New Haven, Conn.
