Free! FATWORLD is a provocative interactive video game that helps students understand the complex factors affecting nutrition. From the creators' site: Fat World "explores the relationships between obesity, nutrition, and socioeconomics in the contemporary U.S. The game's goal is not to tell people what to eat or how to exercise, but to demonstrate the complex, interwoven relationships between nutrition and factors like budgets, the physical world, subsidies, and regulations." To facilitate this understanding, users experience a number of in-game scenarios that deal with dietary choices, exercise habits, and common medical conditions arising from nutritional decisions. Fat World is available for download on Windows XP+ and Mac OS X 10.4+. The project is supported by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
