The New York State Education Department has awarded four contracts, valued at a total of $12.9 million, to vendors developing Common Core-aligned literacy and math curriculum for grades pre-K through fifth grade. The awardees are: Core Knowledge Foundation (language arts for preK-2), Expeditionary Learning (language arts for grades 3-5), and Common Core, Inc. (math for grades preK-5; two contracts). Contracts will be funded from the state's federal Race to the Top funds.
