LittleBits snaps up $3.65M in funding

Jul 18, 2012

LITTLEBITS: $3.65M Series A round to New York-based LittleBits, reports AllThingsD, from True Ventures, with Khosla Ventures, O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures and Lerer Ventures contributing, along with several seed investors, namely Joi Ito, Joann Wilson and Salah Chamma. LittleBits is a true "Maker" kind of company and produces electronics blocks that snap together so that kids can experiment with electronics. They're sold in kits (10 pieces for $89 or 3 bits for $29). The company launched in September 2011 and sold 3,000 kits soon after. Founder Ayah Bdeir says they appeal to both kindergartners and architects.
