KNOW BEFORE YOU OWE: An overdue resource from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau: Know Before You Owe. The program, currently in beta, lets worried students (and their ever-anxious parents) compare tuition, fees, loan and debt information for over 7,500 post-secondary and vocational institutions. Maybe its "timely" in that it coincides with news of the U.S. national student debt recently surpassing $1 trillion--a figure that surpasses most countries' GDP.
