TECH-ED: NYC major Michael Bloomberg is literally bringing the ed to the tech, announcing the opening of the Software Engineering Academy this fall. This public high school will be located in the heart of Manhattan's Union Square, which also houses Yelp and General Assembly--"the kind of companies we want our students to work for." Some are reading this as a sign of NYC's efforts to spruce up the Silicon Alley--the East Coast's own tech hub.
