GOP PUTS THE 'E' IN EDUCATION: That's an 'e' for effort in the GOP's official stance on education. No big surprises here. There are obvious ideological stances on sex education and school choice -- vouchers and homeschooling get the big push -- but mainly it feels like an empty startup pitch. Oh there's plenty of buzzwords: virtual schools, merit-pay, STEM education; but nothing that makes us want to look away from the innovation happening outside of Washington. Case in point? Here's all they have to say about technology: "proper implementation of technology is a key factor in providing every child equal access and opportunity."
