SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO? Education Week's Jason Tomassini asks a question that many startup edupreneurs face at some point: Should you follow the money and intellectual capital to, oh, say, Silicon Valley, or stay put and court the home crowd? Sure, places like the SF and NY have energy and bright lights. But Silicon Valley can be an insular place. Especially in edtech startups, techies can wind up relying too heavily on their coding know-how rather than reaching out for more education experience. Money quote in the story is from Startup Weekend EDU leader Khalid Smith: "The problem with Silicon Valley is they have a tool called technology and they think that's a hammer for every nail that exists." What do you think?
