CAL STATE / PEARSON ONLINE: California State University has "selected" (or "outsourced," depending on whom you ask) Pearson eCollege to operate its fully-online program, Cal State Online, expected to launch in January 2013 with various undergraduate and graduate programs. Blogger Tony Bates questions the wisdom of relying on Pearson to handle all instructional design and training services (and perhaps even the course content): "...I think Cal State has made a strategic mistake that may well come back to haunt it. You don't outsource your future core competencies."
