BETA Nearpod: If you're working in a 1:1 iPad classroom environment, you might want to take a look at this just-released beta which gives teachers significantly more control over what students do on their iPads, along with analytics. In particular, Nearpod lets teachers take share with students materials they've created--powerpoints, videos, interactive quizzes, drawing features and so on--and peek at how they work through the materials. It also includes some powerful analytics for capturing how students fare on assessments. Here's the overview. Teachers can store 10 lessons for free and share it with 30 students. (Teachers who create more than 10 lessons can either delete those and create more or possibly upgrade to a paid subscription, which the company says may cost about $9/month.)
