EverFi Makes First Purchase Abroad with London Education Marketing Agency

Oct 2, 2019

EverFi, a Washington, D.C.-based provider of online courses for schools and companies, has bought EdComs, a London-based communications and marketing agency that specializes in education. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2008, EverFi made the acquisition in part to expand its services in Asia, Europe and the Middle East, according to a statement Wednesday. EverFi claims to have over 300 courses and over 3,500 customers, reaching over 30 million students worldwide. It offers courses on financial literacy, life skills, science and other subjects. It serves learners from K-12 to the workplace.

Founded in 1995, EdComs claims to work in over 100 countries, serving technology companies, sports leagues and foundations. The leadership team and staff will stay with EdComs following the acquisition’s close. Both companies work with the NFL and Premier League of English soccer clubs.

This is EverFi’s first international acquisition, but it has scooped up other companies in the past, including compliance education providers Workplace Answers and LawRoom. EverFi has raised $251 million in capital to date, reporting a substantial Series D round in 2017.
