PERFECT STORM: CourseStorm, an online course management system, has raised $1.15 million in an early series round led by CEI Ventures. Maine Venture Fund and Boston’s LearnLaunch also participated.
The Maine-based company works with small and mid-sized educational providers—including schools, libraries, community organizations, hospitals and museums—to register students and process their payments for class. Its aim is to simplify the enrollment and registration processes and recruit more students per course.
Founded in 2011, CourseStorm has worked with programs in 44 U.S. states. This investment will allow the company to grow its online platform and add approximately 20 new jobs, according to a press release.
