Computer Science Startup, Codelicious Raises $940K to Grow ‘Curriculum as a Service’

Aug 21, 2018

CURRICUL-YUM: Codelicious, an Indianapolis, Ind.-based startup that creates computer science curriculum, has raised $940,000 from Collina Ventures, GRE Capital and Elevate Ventures. The raise was nearly double the company’s initial funding goal of $500,000.

Codelicious offers computer science and coding curriculum for grades 3 through 8, including courses on Javascript, Photoshop and Scratch. In 2017, the company began selling its curriculum to teachers and schools through a software as a service or SaaS-like subscription model that it refers to as “curriculum as a service,” according to a press release.

The company claims it currently has 10 paying clients and has secured revenues of more than $100,000.
