Childcare Provider Platform, Weecare Raises $4.2 in Seed Funding

AWAY WEE GO: Weecare, a Los Angeles-based provider of a platform that aims to help caregivers start and manage daycare businesses for young children, has raised $4.2 million in a seed round led by Social Capital, with Fuel Capital also participating.

Founded in 2017, Weecare walks providers through the process of setting up and marketing childcare programs from their own homes, which includes obtaining licenses, building curriculum, managing payments and communications. Its childcare centers are currently concentrated in the Southern California region. According to the press release, the company plans to expand its services to two more cities later this year.

This funding was announced shortly a $20 million round for Wonderschool, a San Francisco-based startup that offers a similar service.
