Court Upholds Decision to Boot Student Over Facebook Posts

Oct 27, 2016

WATCH THE WALL: A federal appeals court ruled that Minnesota's Central Lakes College was justified in kicking out a nursing student for comments he posted on Facebook while off campus. The community college said the student’s posts, which included using questionable anger management techniques, were ground for removal because they violated the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics. Free speech advocates worry the ruling opens the door for punishments for many things students utter or say off campus.
