READ ON! The U.S. Department of Education has awarded $26 million in grants to 29 organizations through its Innovative Approaches to Literacy program. School districts from more than a dozen states made up the majority of grantees; a handful of checks went to nonprofits such as CommonLit, a provider of free literacy tools and resources.
