TOO COOL (PERFECT FOR SCHOOL): We've got our favorite edtech teacher and administrator tools for the week right here, as highlighted in our Instruct newsletter. By the way—got a favorite S’Cool Tool you like to use? We would love to hear and share your recommendations! If you’ve got a tool that makes you or your students sing from the proverbial mountaintops, fill out this form to let us know. It might just get featured! Note: We append privacy flags to tools that collect personal information. If a tool collects personal information from students, parents or educators should create an account for users under 13.

Free!—A slew of sexual education resources: the sex ed videos from Sex, Etc. are made by teenagers and for teenagers; Implementing Sex Education by Planned Parenthood is a great, medically accurate resource for educators; and Effective Sex Education by Advocates for Youth is required reading for both teachers and students thinking about sex ed. In addition, you should know your state’s regulations on sex education.

Free!Prep4ACT from LTG Exam Platform—An ACT prep app with sample questions, flashcards and practice tests. As students practice more, the tool analyzes their strengths and weaknesses. If a student founders on a problem, they can schedule tutoring help for a fee. This is the fifth of LTG’s standardized test prep apps, so it would seem the company knows what it’s doing. Privacy flag: Prep4ACT collects personally identifiable information, which it may share with third parties to target users with advertisements

Free!AnyDojo—This is actually two apps: AnyDojoP2P and AnyDojo Open. The former is an iPad app that connects students to study and do homework together via live whiteboards and voice chat. Students can import documents and work together remotely on the whiteboards by drawing, and the tool archives their work. AnyDojo open is the same thing but for teachers. Teachers can host office hours with whiteboards, chats and outside documents while saving their notes for other sessions or review. Privacy flag: AnyDojo collects personally identifiable information, which is may share with third parties to target users with advertisements.
