WELDING COMPANIES: Weld North, a private equity and investment firm focused on education businesses, has acquired Performance Matters, a Winter Park, FL-based company that has offered K-12 assessment tools since 2003. The deal is strategic as Weld North will merge Performance Matters with Truenorthlogic, a teacher professional development company in its portfolio.

“With this merger,” Weld North’s Chairman and CEO, Jonathan Grayer stated in a press release, “districts will have student information, including performance data, and analytics combined with educator Professional Development and teacher evaluation data in one integrated, easy-to-use SaaS platform.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Woody Dillaha, co-founder and CEO of Performance Matters, will serve as the new company’s President and Chief Operating Officer.
