AFTER AMPLIFY: Joel Klein, once the face of News Corp.’s ambitious—and ultimately short-lived—digital learning company, may be laying low from the education circuit for awhile. The former Amplify CEO and chancellor of New York City schools has found a new gig as chief policy and strategy officer of “hipster” health insurance startup, Oscar. The company raised $145 million last year at a $1.5 billion valuation—putting it in the unicorn stable—but posted a $41.5 million loss through the first three quarters of 2015.
