Platzi Raises $2.1M Seed Round for Bilingual Professional Skills Courses

Jan 11, 2016

PLATZI has raised $2.1 million in seed funding, with Omidyar Network, 500 Startups, Nazca Ventures and Amasia Ventures and Y Combinator investing. The Mexico City-based startup, founded in 2013, makes live and on-demand videos in English and Spanish for developing professional skills, i.e. programming, marketing and finance, to which users purchase a subscription. Founder Freddy Vega's mission is to provide online professional courses to regions and patrons with low connectivity, which Platzi does through proprietary technology.
