S'Cool Tools of the Week: Hullabalu, Eureka Math, VocApp

$2.99--Hullabalu--An interactive iPad storytelling platform that offers, so far, five books telling the story of story of Pandora "Pan" Beribolt, a young purple panda who lives in the clouds and is searching for her family. The reader’s interaction with the platform drives the story forward. Privacy Flag: Hullabalu collects users’ names, genders, birthdays, photos and email addresses, which it shares with third party advertisers.

Freemium--Eureka Math--A suite of ready-made math curricula that covers each grade from K to 12. The curriculum was developed to align tightly with Common Core standards and focuses on problem sets and discussions. Teachers can download all math curriculum for free; a one-year subscription that gives access to ancillary materials and training costs $190. Eureka Math is part of a greater suite of curricula, Great Minds.

Freemium--VocApp--Multimedia vocabulary flashcards in a bevy of languages. VocApp offers a free site and apps to create flashcards and a reservoir of pre-written flashcards all around vocabulary words in languages that include Dutch, Polish, Spanish, English and even a flashcard or two in Esperanto. Language courses cost about $19.99 apiece. Privacy Flag: VocApp collects email addresses and profile information if users log in with Facebook. The site uses collects browsing data for advertisements. VocApp sends users a newsletter to users until they opt out. VocApp does not share information with third parties.
