Houston ISD Superintendent Terry Grier Resigns

Sep 15, 2015

NO MORE GRIER NEXT YEAR: Six years is a relatively long time for a superintendent to stick around an urban district, judging by the average. But on September 10, Houston Independent School District superintendent Terry Grier announced that after six years, he'll be leaving his post in March 2016. As superintendent of the eighth largest district in the country, Grier's tech-related initiatives have included the PowerUp blended initiative, an effort to bring technology and training to all 282 of HISD's schools. On where he'll end up next, Grier said in a September 10 press conference that he'll probably "land somewhere that has something to do with supporting and helping children."
