DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS: Looks like everyone’s trying to get into the Texas education game these days. OpenEd announced that its open educational resources now align with the Texas “TEKS” standards. And then there’s longtime CBS news anchor (and Texas native) Dan Rather: he’s launched the “Rather Prize,” a $10,000 grant to the student or educator who comes up with the “best idea to improve Texas education.” Guess it’s open season for messin' with Texas, at least at school.
