Companies Will Develop Open Educational Resources With $2M from The Learning Accelerator

Apr 17, 2015

MORE OER: With $2 million in funding from The Learning Accelerator in partnership with the Hewlett Foundation, more open educational resources, or OER, are on the way. The content will cover material for K-12 math and English language arts classrooms.

The Learning Accelerator has awarded $1.3 million to 10 companies, who will create prototypes of the content by summer 2015: edCount LLC, Expeditionary Learning, Illustrative Mathematics, Learn Zillion, Literary Design Collaborative, Mathematics Vision Project, Odell Education, Public Consulting Group, Inc., University of Utah, and Victory Productions. The remaining $700,000 will be used to train reviewers and keep the content up-to-date in the future, The Learning Accelerator told EdSurge.
