K-12 Edtech Investments On the Rise

Feb 20, 2015

DOLLARS TO K-12: Primary and secondary education edtech startups accounted for 22% of venture capital raised last year--double the percentage for 2013, according to CrunchBase editor Christine Magee. Over at TechCrunch, she sees a shift from financing of adult education startups, like Lynda.com’s January $186 million round, towards K-12 investing. She attributes much of the rise to more ubiquitous tech use in classrooms, pointing to tech-adept students and well-connected classrooms.
