Vocabulary.com Gets Funded from Follett Corporation

Feb 6, 2015

VOCABULARY.COM has received an undisclosed investment from Follett Corporation, a Chicago, IL-based retailer of education materials founded back in 1873. As its name implies, Vocabulary.com helps users build their wordsmithing skills through an adaptive, gamified exercises accessible via the web and mobile app. Chicago Tribune reports it claims more than 350 million users.

The funding comes from the Follett Knowledge Fund, launched in June 2013 with $50 million to invest in edtech companies. Other investments include ShowEvidence, ClassOwl and CampusQuad.
