​Google Invests $50 Million in 'Made with Code'

ROCKSTAR CODERS: Last week, Google launched the website “Made with Code” as part of a joint partnership with nonprofit Girls Who Code, which aims to close the gender gap in computer science. This week, “Made with Code” gained some hefty backing, as TechCrunch reported that Google invested $50 million in the program. Google hopes the initiative will help foster a community of female coders. As Megan Smith, VP at Google X, explains, “We really believe that we, as the tech industry, could move faster for gender equality than any other industry.”
