S'Cool Tools of the Week: Tellagami, Wiggio, Augment, Squidoo

Jun 8, 2014

TOO COOL (PERFECT FOR SCHOOL): Ding ding! We've got our favorite edtech teacher and administrator tools for the week right here, as highlighted in our Instruct newsletter! Our fave S'Cool Tools are:

*Free! Get your students animating this summer with Tellagami. This free iOS app lets kids create short animations called Gamis with customizable characters. Users can choose to make their characters “speak” with either text or voice recording. With this tool, students can animate famous moments in history and create characters that recite a poem or story.

*Free! Wiggio’s online collaboration tool is used by everyone, from college students to Tolkien fan party event planners. But why the popularity? Wiggio allows users to host virtual meetings, poll groups in real time, create to-do lists, and more. Got a summer assignment for your students? You might just find that Wiggio is a great way to check in with them throughout June, July, and August.

*Free! Here’s an especially cool tool for the science teachers among us. With Augment, students can upload images and create 3D models viewable through tablets (iPad or Android). Math teachers may also benefit from using Augment in their classrooms, especially when it comes to teaching geometric relationships. Activate a free license today.

*Free! Use Squidoo to create single webpages based on interests, recommendations or summer projects. Simple, easy to use, and requiring no coding or programming experience, Squidoo is a great way for students to engage in some quick project-based learning or raise money for a good cause.
