TOP HAT: $10 million to Top Hat in a Series B round led by Georgian Partners, with Emergence Capital Partners, iNovia Capital, SoftTech VC, Version One Ventures and Golden Venture Partners also participating. The Toronto-based startup has now raised $20 million. Founded in 2009, Top Hat has developed a mobile and web-based classroom response system (think clickers) that is being used by "more than 300,000 students in more than 400 universities," according to this press release from their investor, Georgian Partners.
