Promethean, one of the biggest suppliers, recently signed a contract with Miami-Dade County Public Schools to be the "exclusive supplier of interactive boards for over 10,000 classrooms." The district, the fourth-largest in the U.S. with about 350,000 students, also announced plans to deploy 100,000 HP and Lenovo Windows 8 devices as part of its 1:1 device initiative.
