IN THE TRENCHES: Simulation-based social studies games are on fire this week! (And we’re obsessed with them because we’re gaming geeks.) Politics/economics simulation game Civic Mirror got a mention in Edutopia for its driver’s seat-approach to teaching students about running a country. And for future reference--VentureBeat announced the newest offering from Muzzy Lane games, Making History: The Great War. Though not available until July 28, this multiplayer game is sure to engage students--where else can you play a WWI military captain?
